Tony Galaska is an Associate Professor, Head of Design, Technology, and Management, and the Director of Community Engagement for the Theatre Department at Florida International University.

 

His design work has been seen at Contemporary American Theatre Festival, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, The Texas Shakespeare Theatre Festival, National YoungArts, GableStage, Zoetic Stage and in NYC with companies such as Toy Box Theatre Company, The Gallery Players, Wings Theatre Company, Metropolitan Playhouse, and New Perspectives Theatre Company.

 

Tony has served as the Design, Technology, and Management (DTM) Chair for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region IV, and he is currently the National DTM Member at Large. In 2022 Tony received the Kennedy Center Golden Medallion Award, the highest award given to educators. 

 

He received is M.F.A. in lighting design from Purdue University, a B.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and an A.A from the University of Wisconsin Waukesha.
